The Cooking Plot

 The Cooking Plot is a game that takes place in a fantasy world where nature reigns supreme. In this world, all the fauna and flora seem gigantic. However, over the past few decades, animals have been getting smaller, and flowers don't smell as good as they used to.

You are Noah, a young boy who lives on a farm in a very protected area of the world. You have no idea how vast the world is because you have never left the family farm. However, your passion for cooking and your need for adventure are taking you further and further into the discovery of your surroundings.

Adventure awaits!

 The Cooking Plot is a small prototype that I've been working on for about ten months. I've had this project in mind for a few years, and since I wanted to explore Unreal, I thought it would be a good opportunity.

It was important to me that the game remain simple because the current state of kids' games makes me sad, and I'd love to create something for them.

This game is easy and nonviolent, and it's about observing and understanding nature and its ecosystems.

Simple doesn't mean dumb, though, so the story I have in mind is a bit more complex than it may appear at first. Of course, there is an epic part to it, which is about saving the world and reconnecting people to the forces of nature. However, the story is also intertwined with the feelings of a child confronted with his sibling's depression, trying to understand it and help in any way he can.

I have many more ideas than I included in this demo. It feels like I'm just scratching the surface, but I'm pretty satisfied with it. It provides an idea of where I want the player's emotions to lie.

PS : I'm a programmer so all the art and sounds in the game are from the asset store or found somewhere on the internets. But all the gameplay is from me, and the intro/outro storyboard also but I bet you could tell ^^
